Frequently Asked Questions
How many circuits do I have?
To see how many circuits you have you need to look at your distribution boards and count how many fuses you have, it can sometimes be quite a challenge to correctly count the number of fuses so we are more than happy to come and count them for you.
Whats involved?
Firstly our engineer will carry out a visual inspection of the site checking for any obvious signs of damage, then starting at the main distribution board will work through testing each circuit one at a time looking for any non-conformities.
Will the testing disrupt my business?
To carry out many of the required tests we must turn off the power which can cause some disruption, its advisable to have the testing carried out outside normal working hours as we do not charge any extra for weekend and evening testing.
What paperwork will I receive?
You will receive a comprehensive report detailing the particulars of the installation and any observations or defects. The certificate complies with the requirements of BS7671.
What if my installation does not meet the required standard?
If your installation is deemed ‘Unsatisfactory’ we will advise you why this is and whats require to put it right, you may then be asked to sign an Electrical Danger Notification. We will then provide you with a free quotation for the required remedial works.
If it fails will I need to pay for a retest?
No, If we carry out the remedial work we will issue a new certificate free of charge. If you decide to get another contractor to do the work we will need to inspect this work before we issue a new certificate the fee for this will vary depending on the volume of work required.
When will I receive my certificate?
Certificates are emailed back to head office on the completion of each job and are available for release as soon as payment is received. We are unable to send out certificates until your invoice has been paid in full.
